Elizabeth Ansell of #NotJustFatigue on the That Chronic Thing Podcast

September 27, 2025

#NotJustFatigue founder Elizabeth Ansell joined episode 48 of the That Chronic Thing podcast to talk about the mission behind the organization: a 501(c)(3) using digestible, creative content to sound the alarm on ME/CFS and advocate for people with the disease. The conversation covers what this disease actually is, why the name “Chronic Fatigue Syndrome” has long obscured its severity, and how notjustfatigue.org was built to give patients something to send to the people in their lives who just don’t get it yet.

The numbers tell the story: 75% of those with ME/CFS are unable to work or attend school, 25% are completely homebound or bedbound, there are no FDA-approved treatments or diagnostics, and 45% of the long COVID community meets the case definition for ME/CFS.
